Welcome
I don't know how you ended up here, but nonetheless welcome to my little place on the web. Most people who visit this place usually seek one of three things: Either the various freeware programs I've written over the years, including Windows, Android and Pocket PC applications and games, my bicycle blog, devoted to folding bicycles and city cycling (in Greek), or have been lured here by links to my photographs.
What's new?
Simone
September 6, 2025Apart from the usual new photographs that appear every now and then, I made a new puzzle game, playable on your browser: Simone.
Inkscape
June 8, 2025Inkscape is the most well known and probably the most feauture-rich open source vector graphics editor. It initially came out in 2003 and since then it has evolved to be a very powerful and useful tool. The user interface has some quirks and it definitely is not a program you can learn in one day, but any effort you put in it pays off. I have personally used it to create icons, game graphics and even posters for printing. It is a very flexible program and can even handle multi-page documents, but it is not a replacement for a complete desktop publishing tool.
Sigal-static gallery generator
May 24, 2025When I decided to redesign this site, I looked for a static gallery generator. I wanted an easy to use tool, that allows me to organize my photos in a folder, extract / display exif information, and allows some kind of customization or theming. I ended up picking Sigal: it's an open-source tool written in Python, with built-in themes and provision for adding ones own themes, it creates nice looking galleries, allows adding metadata to be displayed along with the images, and generally it got the job done better than the other tools I tried. Development doesn't seem that active (my pull request hasn't been reviewed for over a month now), but what is already there is very useful.
